Terms of Service

Effective August 8, 2026

Agreement

These terms govern your use of the ShootClip macOS application and the shootclip.com website (together, "the service"), operated by ShootClip. By downloading the app or creating an account you agree to these terms. Questions: support@shootclip.com.

Your license to ShootClip

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use ShootClip on Macs you own or control. You may not reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app, or circumvent plan limits. The Free plan is free forever; features marked Pro require an active subscription.

Your content

Everything you edit stays yours. ShootClip claims no ownership of your footage, projects, or exported videos, which are stored on your Mac. You are responsible for having the rights to the media you edit and publish, and for the content you upload to third-party platforms through the app.

Subscriptions & billing

ShootClip Pro is billed monthly or yearly through our payment processor, Dodo Payments, and renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your dashboard; access continues until the end of the paid period. If a payment fails, Pro features pause until billing is resolved. Prices may change with notice before your next renewal.

Fair use of AI features

Pro auto captions include 300 minutes of transcribed video per calendar month per account, with reasonable daily limits to prevent abuse. Quotas reset on the first of each month and unused minutes do not roll over. Automated or shared-account usage intended to exceed these limits may be suspended.

Publishing to YouTube

The optional direct-publish feature uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your Google account you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service; Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. ShootClip uploads only the videos you explicitly choose, to your own channel, and you can revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. You remain responsible for what you publish complying with YouTube's community guidelines.

Acceptable use

Don't use the service to break the law, infringe others' rights, distribute malware, probe or overload our servers, or resell API access. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.

Disclaimer & liability

ShootClip is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShootClip is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, data loss, or lost profits; our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Termination

You can stop using ShootClip and delete your account at any time by emailing support@shootclip.com. We may terminate accounts for material breach of these terms. Sections that by nature survive (your content, disclaimers, liability) survive termination.

Changes

If these terms change materially, we will post the update here with a new effective date. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
